In this very special edition of Fic Rec Monday, I'm sharing my fifty favorite fics from the last year. Like last year, I discovered a lot of great older fics, but this list contains only fics posted or finished in 2016 (no works in progress). There are a handful of fics from the last week of 2015 for logistical reasons. Here we go: 50 fics in 16 fandoms. )

It's my third Fic Rec Monday installment of the Favorite Authors Project, where I put together a rec list with works by specific fic writers instead of by theme or fandom. This week we're talking about [archiveofourown.org profile] astolat, who has been writing in most of my favorite fandoms for years (and also helped found the AO3, so whoo!) and still manages to do that while vidding as well as writing and publishing original work. Some people just don't sleep, I guess?

I'm sharing twenty-five of my favorite fics by [archiveofourown.org profile] astolat. (Keep in mind these are just my favorites. They also fic for fandoms I don't read often, like: Bandom, Supernatural, Person of Interest, etc.) Enjoy!

It's our second Fic Rec Monday in the Favorite Authors Project, where I put together a rec list with works by specific fic writers instead of by theme or fandom. This week we're talking about [archiveofourown.org profile] thehoyden, who has been writing awesomeness in all your favorite fandoms (okay, maybe not all of your favorite fandoms, but a lot of mine) for forever. They're also a semi-regular guest on the /Report, one of my favorite podcasts (coming at you with fangirl awesomeness since 2011).

I'm sharing ten of my favorite fics by [archiveofourown.org profile] thehoyden. (Keep in mind these are just my favorites. They also fic for fandoms I don't read often, like: Hikaru no Go, Naruto, Due South, Inception, etc.)

Title: Lois Lane: Fallout
Author: Gwenda Bond
Genre: Media Tie-In, Science Fiction, Superhero, YA
Hardcover: 304 pages
Stand alone or series: first in a series
Book source: purchased
Format: E-book
Why did I read this book: I'm a big Lois Lane fan and I like novels set in comic book universes.
Publisher: Switch Press
Publication Date: May 1, 2015
Cover Copy:
Lois Lane is starting a new life in Metropolis. An Army brat, Lois has lived all over—and seen all kinds of things. (Some of them defy explanation, like the near-disaster she witnessed in Kansas in the middle of one night.) But now her family is putting down roots in the big city, and Lois is determined to fit in. Stay quiet. Fly straight. As soon as she steps into her new high school, though, she can see it won’t be that easy. A group known as the Warheads is making life miserable for another girl at school. They’re messing with her mind, somehow, via the high-tech immersive videogame they all play. Not cool. Armed with her wit and her new snazzy job as a reporter, Lois has her sights set on solving this mystery. But sometimes it’s all a bit much. Thank goodness for her maybe-more-than-a friend, a guy she knows only by his screenname, SmallvilleGuy.
