This week's Fic Rec Monday is all about Cherik. It's the week before Valentine's Day and I'm feeling the love, so it's time for a shippy list. My Charles Xavier/Erik Lehnsherr recs are mostly from X-Men: First Class fandom, but there are a few comics/old-school movies fics thrown in. (Two side-notes: the post title is a direct quote of Charles speaking to Erik in XMFC and if that's not romantic as hell I don't know what is; also, six of these are by pocky_slash, who is ridiculously prolific and whose Charles/Erik fics are too good for words, okay?)
Anarchy In The U.K. by Yahtzee
Moira MacTaggert, Raven Darkholme, Sean Cassidy, Armando Muñoz, Emma Frost, Azazel, Sebastian Shaw, Alex Summers, Psylocke, Hank McCoy, AU-Journalism, AU-Modern Setting, AU-No Powers, AU-Royalty, Closeted Character, Corgis, Curtain Fic, From Sex to love, News Media, Roleplay, Slow Burn, Sibling Bonding
Summary: "Good God, Erik thought. The Prince of Wales is gay."
Charles lives in the unceasing glare of the public spotlight, yet keeps his sexual orientation a closely held secret, afraid he could lose his throne and force his deeply troubled younger sister into a role that would crush her. Erik, journalist and world traveler, has been a loner most of his life; he has little patience for closet cases. But a chance meeting in Kenya brings these two opposites together and sets in motion a love affair that will challenge the British monarchy -- and their most deeply held beliefs about who they are, and who they should be.
Everything About It Is A Love Song by pocky_slash
Canon Disabled Character, Depression, Domestic, Marriage, old mutants in love, Post-Canon, Retirement
Summary: Erik's spent fifty years being a figurehead and he's ready to leave that behind. Luckily, so is Charles.
(aka Old Retired Dudes in Love)
fathers and sons by M_Leigh
Hank McCoy, Alex Summers, Peter Maximoff, assholes in love, Hank POV, magneto attempts to be a parent, post-X-Men: Days of Future Past
Summary: “I have an – interest – in Peter Maximoff,” Erik said, somewhat grudgingly, glaring. “A – familial – interest –”
Everybody stared at him.
“In that – mutantkind is one – large – family –” Erik said valiantly, if pathetically.
“Oh, shit,” Alex said. “No way. No way.”
For I Mean to Conquer Troy by twelve_pastels
Azazel/Mystique, Hank McCoy/Alex Summers, Sean Cassidy/Cosmic Oneness
Summary: Set one year post movie, Charles overloads himself in Cerebro, and his mind goes walkabout; wherever he is (and he’s around), it’s not in his body. Erik temporarily takes over the school in his absence, and finds that there’s little time for resentment or hatred when he’s busy organizing assigned reading for English lit, keeping the youngest children out of trouble, and trying to talk Raven into wearing clothing for the boys’ sake. Somewhere in between taking responsibility for the students and dreaming Charles’ dreams every night, he manages to remember that he’s something rather more than a weapon. In other words: A Love Story between two Gentlemen, told in Prose, Epistles, and Nonsense Rhymes.
A Hundred Visions and Revisions by kaydeefalls
Doctor Who Crossover, Canton Everett Delaware III, Sam Wilson, First Time, 1960s
Summary: In which the CIA and FBI indulge in some inter-agency snooping, Erik hates Cerebro, a new mutant is found, and Charles is very distracting.

Edie Lehnsherr, Jakob Lehnsherr, Raven Darkholme, Ruth Eisenhardt, AU-Modern Setting, AU-Still Have Powers, Remix, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Sibling Bonding, Meet the Family, Family Issues, Family Drama, Friends with Benefits
Summary: Erik's not sure whether the problem is that he doesn't want his parents to meet Charles or that he doesn't want Charles to meet his parents. Either way, he never invites Charles to brunch. Why should he? It's not like they're dating.
No Yesterdays On the Road by pocky_slash
Moira MacTaggert, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Ororo Munroe, Hank McCoy, Alex Summers, Angel Salvadore, Scott Summers, Sean Cassidy, Raven Darkholme, AU-Canon Divergence, Male-Female Friendship, Road Trips
Summary:It's been two months since Cuba and things are settling down for Charles, Erik, and the beginnings of their mutant school. Right up until Charles disappears, that is. Faced with the possibility that a bitter Emma Frost has kidnapped Charles, Erik is forced to team up with Moira to hunt down the remainder of the Hellfire Club. From there, they hope to locate Frost and retrieve Charles, without killing each other along the way.
(Or: Erik and Moira Drive Across the Country and Talk About Their Feelings.)

A Place to Fall by ikeracity
Moira MacTaggert, Raven | Mystique, Hank McCoy, Tony Stark, Alex Summers, Sean Cassidy, Bobby Drake, Nick Fury, Colonel William Stryker, AU-Modern Setting, Avengers Crossover, SHIELD, Erik is a SHIELD agent, Charles runs the X-Men, bodyguard scenarios, Weapon X Project
Summary: While being tasked to protect Charles Xavier, the annoyingly charming CEO of Xavier Pharmaceuticals, SHIELD agent Erik receives further orders to use Charles as a source of information to find and capture Professor X, the elusive leader of the renegade band of mutants called the X-Men. Of course, that's a rather difficult proposition, given that the man he's hunting is the same as the one he's trying to protect. And the fact that Erik's starting to find Charles more than a little attractive complicates everything.
Replay by Unforgotten
Moira MacTaggert, Raven Darkholme, Emma Frost, Sean Cassidy, Alex Summers, Armando Muñoz, The Man in Black, Hank McCoy, Alternate Universe, First Kiss, Fix-It, Genocide, Post-X2, Time Travel
Summary: After Magneto of an X2-ish future succeeds in the unthinkable, Charles sends his consciousness back to 1962 to guide Erik away from the path that will lead to the genocide of the human race forty years hence.
Charles knows that Erik has always loved him, and intends to use this knowledge + sex to seduce Erik away from his ideals in his youth.
There's no way this well-thought-out, sensible, debugged and 100% bulletproof plan can possibly go wrong.
rooms/shares by pocky_slash
Nick Fury/Moira MacTaggert, Moira MacTaggert, Nick Fury, Janos Quested, Emma Frost, AU-Modern Setting, AU-Still Have Powers, AU-Roommates/Housemates, Canon Disabled Character, Canon Jewish Character, Chatting & Messaging, Female Friendship, Mutant Politics
Summary: Erik is single, working a cube job he hates, letting his master's degree in mutant studies collect dust, and living on his best friend's couch. When she kicks him out, he's forced to trawl Craigslist for the least-offensive rooming option within his meagre budget. He never expects a response from the persnickety, high maintenance ad he replies to as a joke, but it's possible this too-nice apartment and mysteriously absent roommate might be the answer to all four of his problems.
Some Such Place (The Big Screen Classics Remix) by pocky_slash
Angel Salvadore, AU-Modern Setting, AU-Still Have Powers, Films, Friends to Lovers, Friends with Benefits, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology
Summary: Erik's spent the last eighteen months having lengthy socio-political conversations and casual sex with Charles Xavier after seeing Monday matinees at a dingy little independent movie theatre in the Village. That doesn't mean they're friends. Or that Erik should have any say in what Charles is going to do with his future.
(At least, that's what Erik keeps telling himself.)
